Effects
Leech Seed afflicts the target with the Leech Seed status. While afflicted with this status, a Pokémon will lose 1/12th of its HP every time it moves or otherwise acts, with the HP being given to the nearest foe in a 4-tile area. The effect wears off if there are no foes within this area. Grass-type Pokémon are immune to this status.
Strategy
Leech Seed is best saved for encounters with strong foes; the damage over time is more meaningful against an opponent with high bulk, while the HP recovery is more useful when an opponent will take multiple turns to defeat. Because the effect persists as long as at least one ally is within a 4-tile area of the target, Leech Seed can be used to wear down a strong foe while running away at the same time.
To deal with dungeon enemies that use Leech Seed, it is advised to get foes outside of the 4-tile area around the afflicted Pokémon quickly, to minimize the HP loss.
