Map Statuses

Map Statuses encompass all dungeon-wide battle effects and all screen-covering visual effects.

Statuses with battle effects

Default Weather

  • Default; no battle effects

Cloudy

  • All non-Normal moves are weakened

Electric Terrain

  • Electric-type moves are boosted
  • All Pokémon on the floor cannot sleep

Grassy Terrain

  • Grass-type moves are boosted
  • Ground-type moves are weakened
  • All Pokémon on the floor slowly gain HP except Flying-types

Gravity

  • Drops everyone's evasion by two stages
  • Prevents moves such as Telekinesis, Magnet Rise, Bounce, and Sky Drop from working
  • Flying-types and Levitate immunities are removed

Hail

  • All Pokémon on the floor will take damage except Ice-types

Harsh Sun

Heavy Rain

Inverse

  • All type matchups are reversed

Magic Room

  • All held items and abilities are disabled

Misty Terrain

  • Dragon-type moves are weakened
  • All Pokémon are protected from major status problems

Mysterious Distortion

Psychic Terrain

  • Psychic-type moves are boosted
  • Moves will miss at melee range

Rain

  • Water-type moves are boosted
  • Fire-type moves are weakened

Sandstorm

  • All Pokémon on the floor will take damage except Rock, Ground, and Steel-types. The Sp. Def of Rock-types is boosted

Something's Stirring

  • The exploration team must leave the floor before it arrives, or they will be forced out of the dungeon

Sunny

  • Fire-type moves are boosted
  • Water-type moves are weakened

Trick Room

  • Effects on all Pokemon's Movement Speed are reversed

Wind

  • Flying-types are protected from their weaknesses

Wonder Room

  • Physical attacks become Special attacks, and vice versa

Visual-only statuses

Default Map Status

  • Default; no visual effects

Blizzard

Clouds Overhead

  • Resembles the cloud effect in Pokémon Square and Treasure Town.

Dark

  • Useful for cutscenes taking place at night

Fog

Snow

Internally used statuses

These statuses are special and used by the game for specific gameplay purposes. Generally, they layer on with the other statuses instead of overwriting them.

Rescued

  • Status that handles rescues through SOS Mail

Shopping

  • Occurs when entering shops in dungeons
  • Handles shop greeting and checkout
  • Cannot swap leaders

Thief

  • Occurs after stealing or destroying items from a shop
  • Prevents the use of Escape Orbs
  • Prevents leader switches
  • Prevents rescues
  • Spawns shopkeepers near the exit

Outlaw Clear Check

  • Currently used for the outlaw mission in the debug room
  • Calls SINGLE_CHAR_SCRIPT.OutlawClearCheck at the end of every turn

Scanner

Move Ban

  • Bans the move from all Pokémon for the rest of the dungeon.
  • Applied when a Pokémon eats a Ban Seed.

Monster Mansion

Mysterious Force

  • Prevents Orbs, Machines, and special items from working
  • Useful for boss battles.
  • Not used in the random boss rooms found in dungeons like Guildmaster Trail or Secret Garden.

Foe FOV

  • Used to determine where enemy Pokémon can see or not.
