== Effects ==
Aegislash begins every floor in Shield Forme. While in Shield Forme, Aegislash's base Defense and Special Defense become 140, while Attack and Special Attack become 50.

After using an attack move, Aegislash changes to Blade Forme. While in Blade Forme its stats are reversed, with its base Attack and Special Attack becoming 140, while Defense and Special Defense become 50. Using a status move while in Blade Forme will then change Aegislash back to Shield Forme.

Aegislash's forme changes ''after'' the move is used. In the case of attacks, this means that an attack used while in Shield Forme will be calculated using its lower attacking values of 50, before then changing into Blade Forme afterward.

Stance Change can only be used by Aegislash; if the ability is moved to another Pokémon using a move such as [[Skill Swap]], that Pokémon will gain none of the ability's effects. If Aegislash's ability is removed, it will remain in whatever forme it was in for the rest of the floor, keeping whatever stats that forme uses.
