Critical Hits do not happen naturally in PMDO. Instead, moves with a "high critical hit ratio" are the only ones that can crit at all. Items, abilities, etc can still boost the critical hit ratio, which would give moves that normally do not crit the ability to do so.
Critical hits do 1.5x normal damage, while ignoring the user's offensive drops and the target's defensive boosts.
The chance of landing a critical hit is as follows:
Change | Chance |
---|---|
+0 | No chance. |
+1 | 1/4 |
+2 | 1/3 |
+3 | 1/2 |
+4 | Always crit |
